Reversi

Have more discs of your color on the board than your opponent when the game ends.

Place a disc so that it traps a straight line of your opponent’s discs between it and one of your own. All trapped discs flip to your color.

Lines can go across, up and down, or diagonally, and one move can flip several lines at once.

If you cannot flip anything, you pass and your opponent plays again. The game ends when neither player can move.

Corners can never be flipped, so they are very strong. Be careful with the squares next to an empty corner.

Black always moves first. Online games are rated: you gain points for wins and lose points for losses.
