Gin Rummy

Form melds and keep your deadwood (cards not in melds) as low as possible. The first player to reach the target score wins the match.

Draw from the stock or take the top discard, then discard one card. You cannot discard the card you just picked up from the discard pile.

A set is 3 or 4 cards of the same rank. A run is 3 or more cards in a row of the same suit. Aces are low (A-2-3, not Q-K-A). The game arranges your melds for you.

With 10 or less deadwood you can knock. Your opponent lays off cards on your melds, and the player with less deadwood scores the difference.

Knock with zero deadwood to go gin for a 25-point bonus (31 for big gin with all 11 cards). If the defender has as little or less deadwood than the knocker, it is an undercut: +25 to the defender.

Aces are 1, face cards 10, other cards their number. If only two cards are left in the stock, the hand is a draw.
